Planning for our Community Halls

Clarence Valley Council is calling on community members to help shape the future of our community halls by providing input into the development of the Clarence Valley Community Halls Strategy.

Community halls are places of important social connection. They provide opportunities for locals to interact with each other, participate in activities and come together in times of need. Many have also played an important role in the community's recovery from natural disasters. This role of community halls has also been strengthened in recent years, with investment in facilities and on-site equipment.

The Clarence Valley Community Halls Strategy is an important document for Council. It provides an opportunity to coordinate Council’s efforts to work with the community to strengthen these important assets. The Strategy will seek to put actions in place that balance Council’s limited resources with a desire to increase the importance and relevance of halls to the community over the next ten years.

How to share your thoughts

Council wants to hear from people across the entire Clarence Valley. Help shape our community halls by sharing your lived experiences, values and hopes for their future. This initial stage of engagement will comprise a comprehensive online survey, allowing people who use our halls to make specific comments on each. But please note that some halls are not owned or managed by Council, and this Strategy process will only apply to those where Council has management responsibility (even where this is delegated to community-based committees).

Complete the online survey

Share your thoughts in the online survey. Your feedback will directly inform the development of the Strategy, ensuring that all opportunities and constraints can be considered. The survey is open until 3 October 2025 and can be accessed through the link below:
