Welcome. This website gives you the information you need to know to participate easily and effectively in the public consultation for "The Clarence 2027” Community Strategic Plan (CSP).

We need your input to help guide the development of the CSP. The purpose of the Plan it to identify the community’s main priorities and aspirations for the future of the Clarence, and plan strategies to achieve them. These strategies will take into consideration the issues and pressures that may affect the community and the level of resources that will realistically be available.

It is not only Council who will deliver these strategies, but also other stakeholders such as the state government and various community groups.

The CSP must balance vision and practical reality.

The CSP answers the following questions:

  • Where are we now?
  • Where do we want to be in 10 years?
  • How will we get there?
  • How will we know when we’ve arrived?

The CSP will be based on five major themes to guide all planning:

  • Our Society
  • Our Environment
  • Our Economy
  • Our Infrastructure
  • Our Leadership

You may want to think of these broad themes when you answer the surveys.

What can you do now?

There a many ways to get involved, including community workshops, listening posts and focus groups to reach as many members of the community as we can to get their views.

There are also two surveys on this webpage (a mirror of our workshops and listening posts) that we strongly encourage you to take:

  • “Tell us your vision for the Clarence” – Four open ended questions; write as much as you would like to say.
  • “Help us prioritise our service levels” – nine quick poll questions on public asset condition levels (1 – 5 scale) and your priorities for these.

If you have questions please ask them here and however you do it - thanks for your participation.

If you have any questions about the Community Strategic Plan - The Clarence 2027, feel free to ask. Note questions and answers are public.

Perhaps try using the Chrome browser. We've just tried them in Chrome and had no difficulty.  It should work with all browsers, but there are sometimes hiccups. If you're still having troubles, email communityplan@clarence.nsw.gov.au and we'll work out a way to get them to you.

    Hi

The listening posts are now finished, but we have workshops starting on Wednesday. The existing community strategic plan is one of the documents available in the document library on this site. You will also find a copy of the end of term report which, in part, addresses how the previous council responded to the plan. I note your other question about opening the end of term report. We have just double checked and had no problem opening either document. Perhaps try using the Chrome browser.  The file will open as a separate .pdf document in the bottom left corner of your screen.

There are more than three people working on the plan, but the three identified are the main contact points. It is also important to remember the plan will not be devised by those shown in the photos - it will be based on the submissions made by members of the public. That is why we are keen to get as many people involved and expressing their views as possible.  We are particularly keen to get the views of the traditionally hard-to-reach people, so any help you or any others of the community can provide in ensuring that diversity of opinion is heard would be much appreciated.

You can. We have links to the survey on Council's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/clarencevalleycouncil) and you can share it from there.
