New Playgrounds for the Clarence Valley

YES, that's right people of the Clarence Valley, the time has come to upgrade a bunch more playgrounds across the LGA and we want to know your thoughts and ideas. These upgrades are required to bring the playgrounds up to date with the latest Australian Standards for safety, as well as to improve the play experience, accessibility, and diversity aligning with Council's Open Space Strategic Plan, Open Space Asset Management Plan & Councils Playground policy.

The Playgrounds being Upgraded are:

  • Lawrence Memorial Park Playground
  • Brushgrove Triangle Playground
  • Grevillia Park Playground - Minnie Water
  • Memorial Park Playground - Coutts Crossing

Key improvements proposed include:

  • Provide a range of play experiences and cater to a range of age groups through active, imaginative, creative, social, quiet and free play
  • Create nature play areas with an array of textures, sensory activities, gardens, and natural sounds to encourage children to engage all of their senses
  • Provide strong connections with the local landscapes and local communities
  • Possible improvements to surrounding carparks, BBQ's, seating areas and pathways

Make sure you attend the community consultation open days, complete the survey, leave a comment or ask us a question related to the above Playgrounds and one of our project team members will answer your enquiries.

Our project team will have lots of information related to the playground upgrades onsite, there will be activities such as the ever-popular place a sticker on your favourite playground equipment pieces, idea boards to the kid's playground design colouring competitions.

These open days have been really successful in the past and have formed the basis for the design of the playgrounds on offer.

    See you there!!!!!
