Clarence Valley Council, in partnership with ROSS Planning, is developing a new plan to improve our open spaces, sport, recreation, and aquatic facilities — and we want to hear from you!

These spaces and facilities are important as they make our community more liveable and sustainable. They not only provide us a place to play, socialise and have fun, but they also have a range of other benefits. They can help us stay healthy, boost our economy, and even help the environment. So, Clarence Valley Council is developing a plan to make sure we get the most out of our open spaces and sport, recreation and aquatic facilities.

How are we doing this? We are undertaking a comprehensive review of our existing strategic documents, being the Clarence Valley Open Space Strategic Plan , Clarence Valley Sports Facilities Plan and Clarence Valley Aquatic Facility Strategy. This review is being implemented in a staged approach including Inception and set-up, Background research and analysis, Facility and program audit, Community engagement, Analysis of current and future demand, Draft preparation and presentation, and Review and finalisation.

This is an LGA-wide project intended to meet a wide range of key objectives. Ultimately, the suite of documents will guide open space provision and works programs, planning, management, operation and resourcing across sport, recreation, aquatic facilities in a sustainable manner that balances community expectations and resource realities.

We look forward to working with you on this project. Together, we can make our opportunities better now and into the future.
