People of Woombah and surrounding suburbs GET READY!!! Woombah Park is about to get an exciting upgrade and we want to hear your thoughts and ideas!!!!
Council's Open Spaces Team plans to improve the current park facilities & play space to align with the Council's Open Space Strategic Plan, Open Spaces Asset Management Plan, Disability Inclusion Action Plan, Playground Policy, and your thoughts and ideas.
This play space is one of the last timber-structured playgrounds in the Valley, so we would like to keep with this theme and incorporate as many natural elements as possible including both active and nature play pieces, sensory gardens, natural seating elements, and adventure play to curate what we have probationary coined: Woombah Wild.
Some of the key features proposed in the upgrade include:
An inclusive play space
A basketball / multiple-purpose half-court
A network of footpaths, native sensory gardens, and nature walks
Upgraded seating and hangout spaces
Landscape improvements
Greater functionality for community events
BUT we want to know what you think about activating this space. So please fill out the Survey below, share some of your Thoughts & Ideas, and make sure you attend the community consultation day at the park this Saturday 28 October 2023, from 2pm - 4pm, as part of the Tunes In The Trees event.
