Will there be shade structures?

The design approach prioritises natural shade through considered native plantings and canopy development, rather than introducing additional shade structures. This is consistent with current best practice in coastal and open space design where long term, low impact shade solutions are preferred over built shade in environmentally sensitive reserves. While there are no plans to install shade sails, the design will integrate shade outcomes through strategic vegetation placement shade covered play elements (such as a play slide tower etc.) and protection of existing canopy.

Will the park be accessible for all users?

Yes, accessibility has been a core driver in the broader planning for this precinct. The playground upgrade will tie into the William Ager Coastal Walk project (however delivered at different stages) which will have continuous accessible connections throughout the reserve, ensuring compliant access to the playground, water bubbler and existing shelters.
