What do you believe are the main leadership and governance issues in the Clarence Valley? What new challenges may we face over the next 10 years? Do you have any ideas to help the leaders of our communities in providing direction and governance to the community?

It is hard to trust any politician these days amongst "core promises" etc. It's all about getting re-elected. It is a rare leader that will stand up and represent their community and constituents. I am stepping out of CVC here, but I have never voted Labour but blimey charlie, Janelle Saffin did a good job for this area. Imagine what she would have been like in opposition?! We now have a federal and state member who's party are both elected so sit back, relax and be told what to say/do boys. (by the way, my name is Jack Smitherston). We need a leader that will be innovative, listen to the local community and ethically run the council because there's not a lot of joy up the chain lately (either way).

While I like the retirement village feel of Grafton, the place needs jobs. We need some leaders who will make this happen.
