Clarence Valley Council has commissioned a comprehensive review into the strategic planning, governance and management of the Grafton Regional Livestock Selling Centre (GRLSC). As part of our commitment to sound governance and responsible management of public assets, this review will help shape the long-term future of the saleyards.
The review is being undertaken by Delos Delta Pty Ltd, an independent consultancy engaged to assess viable future operating structures, infrastructure investment needs, and long-term management options to support safe, efficient and sustainable operations that reflect both community expectations and Council policy. There is wide recognition across the region that the GRLSC is a valuable community asset, contributing to our agricultural economy, supporting local employment, and generating social and economic benefits.
As part of this work, Council is calling on community members, producers, stakeholders and users to help shape the future of our saleyards by providing input into the development of a Future Options Plan. As industry, markets and infrastructure evolve, now is the time to look ahead and ensure the saleyards remain relevant, productive and resilient into the next decade and beyond.
The Future Options Plan will provide a structured way for Council and the saleyard managers to coordinate efforts, identify priorities and lay out actions that make best use of limited resources while delivering value for the region and the livestock industry.
