FAQs
What is a service review?
A service review is a structured assessment of how Council delivers a service. It looks at what we do, how we do it, what it costs and whether it is meeting the needs of the community, while meeting its statutory obligations
For the road service review, Council is examining how it manages and maintains local roads to ensure services are efficient, effective, safe, sustainable and whether it is delivering good value to the community.
How will my feedback be used?
Feedback will be analysed alongside a technical desktop condition review and used to inform recommendations reported to Council, in line with our Integrated Planning and Reporting framework.
What roads does this review cover?
All Council-managed sealed and unsealed road pavements and roadside verges across the Clarence Valley local government area. State roads are managed separately by Transport for NSW.
Does this cover footpaths, bridges or drainage?
No - this review is limited to sealed and unsealed road pavements and roadside verges. Footpaths, stormwater infrastructure and bridges are managed through separate processes.
How is this different from reporting a pothole?
Reporting a specific fault still goes through Council's usual customer request system for action. This review is about understanding overall service levels and priorities to shape future maintenance and investment planning.
Does this mean funding will increase?
Not necessarily. This review builds an evidence base - combining a desktop assessment of budgets, resourcing and performance with what we hear from the community - to inform future decisions.
Any funding changes would still go through Council's normal budget and IP&R processes.
Can I take part without going online?
Yes. Paper surveys are available at customer service locations in Maclean and Grafton.
