Clarence Valley Council are working to protect flying-foxes and their habitat and prevent negative interactions with flying-foxes in core habitats. To do this, we are developing a flying-fox management plan and communications strategy for the Clarence Valley, as well as working on habitat regeneration and revegetation in flying-fox habitats to increase buffers.

Flying-fox Camp Monitor

over 4 years

We want to know where you have seen flying-foxes roosting in the Clarence Valley! This data will help to guide the development of a management plan for the Clarence Valley.

Click on the existing orange pins to read information about previously listed camps. The pink round dots are indicative of historical camp locations.

  1. Zoom (by scrolling / use the + or - icon at the bottom right hand of your screen) into the area you would like to place a pin or search for an address.
  2. Once the location is identified, drag the Flying-fox Camp pin (expand + to the left of your screen) to the location on the map.
  3. Complete the comment section. The date observed is mandatory, the remainder of the questions are optional but appreciated. Press submit once you have finished. Please note that information entered in the survey is viewable to the public once you have submitted the point, so please do not include identifying notes or defamatory remarks.
  4. Continue adding points until you have shown us all the flying-fox camp locations that are known by you to be active. Note that if a camp has already been identified, you are welcome to submit a new point with updated information.
We thank you for your input in this project.

If you don't have a new camp to pin, but rather information pertaining to an existing camp, tell us your story instead.
